Caring For Your Shoes

We go to great lengths to create shoes that you can slip on and feel good about. But the selection of your perfect shoe is only part of the story. Shoe care is an essential part of ensuring that your look and style is well-kept. The quality and condition of your shoes is often the first thing that a person will notice. So, protecting your investment not only makes sense, but it allows you to put your best foot forward.

General Care

To ensure the beauty and longevity of your shoes we have a few hints and tips:

For waxed or glazed leather, a spot clean with a slightly damp cloth followed by a polish with a soft cotton shoe cloth will help keep your shoes looking refreshed (avoid shoe creams for waxed or glazed leather as this will dull the finish.)

When not being worn, keep your shoes in the shoe pouches they came with and store in a cool, dry place.

Avoid contact with alcohols or oils as these can discolor your shoes. If your shoes come into contact with water, allow them to dry completely with shoe trees inserted to help maintain the shape.

Leather

Leather is a natural material and can be expected to show wear over time. However, the proper care of your shoes will help ensure that the life of the leather is extended. We encourage you to use high-quality shoe creams or waxes (as appropriate for the surface) to clean and buff your shoes on a regular basis to keep them looking new.

Suede & Nubuck

To maintain the soft finish of our suede and nubuck products, we encourage you to use a high-quality, colorless waterproofing spray to act as a protective barrier. This will make it much easier to spot clean the surface when needed. A suede brush will also help restore the feel of the material and can remove surface dirt when needed.
